Summary:
The Production Manager is responsible for the completion of all manufactured products at the Putzmeister America facility, within the area of responsibility.
Through front-line supervisors, the Production Manager is responsible for directing hourly employees within the operations team ensuring the team meets or exceeds key metrics including safety, development, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Implement a production system driving shop floor management tools and consistent performance targets for all production departments.
Lead implementation of Lean tools, processes, and culture such as 5S, visual management, waste reduction, Pareto analysis, root cause analysis, leader/standard work, single piece flow, level loading, just-in-time inventory, kaizen, Gemba walks, daily management, quality-at-the-source, value-add optimization.
Drive accountability at all levels, ensuring work processes are followed and expectations are clearly communicated and upheld.
The primary driver of a positive work environment and leadership growth within the area of responsibilities.
Build and grow relationships with auxiliary departments to share responsibility for continuous improvement and general execution of production plans and customer satisfaction.
Wholistically review production systems to identify areas of waste reduction, cycle time improvement, and overall optimization.
Communicate regularly and positively with all levels of the organization regarding problems or issues impacting production.
Ensure company policies are adhered to and enforced equitably.
Oversee the onboarding process for the department focusing on structured training and development plans for all positions.
Ensure company environmental policies are followed to confirm compliance with all government agencies.
Drive quality system conformance including root cause corrective action for any failures.
Act as production capacity and manpower lead to coordinate production schedule with other departments.
Create and maintain top-level metrics to drive continuous improvement and visibility throughout the organization.
Responsible for the full range of supervisory activities for the department including selection, training, evaluation, counseling, and discipline.
Set department budgets and targets for cost reduction.

Qualifications:

years of supervisory experience 5
Years of equipment or systems manufacturing Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Experience with SAP in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing facility High mechanical/electrical aptitude Knowledge of modern production systems such as the Toyota Production System Demonstrated ability to motivate teams and drive culture change Education/Certification/Training:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or relevant experience Work Environment/Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, bend, and use hands to finger, handle or touch; frequently required to push and pull.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, peripheral, and the ability to focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in a typical office environment; occasionally exposed to noise, dust, and chemicals.
Occasional shop presence to observe assembly, mounting, testing and maintenance procedures.
Safety glasses/goggles must be worn at all times while in designated areas of shop.
